What is Endoscopic Sinus Surgery?
Endoscopic sinus surgery ia a new, minimally invasive type of operation that allows for a marked improvement in patient’s recovery rates and significantly reduces the occurrence of complications, the level of discomfort suffered and the amount of post-operative scarring.
In a typical Sinus Surgery Procedure miniature surgical tools are introduced into the patients nose via the nostrils. The micro-tools are manipulated by the surgeon, who can see inside the patient via a small video camera (endoscope) and a series of monitors. Due to the fact that no large, traumatic incisions are necessary, postoperative recovery is smoother than after traditional operation, the patient’s hospital stay is shorter and incapacitation is minimized.
